Carlsbad Department of Development Launches Outdoor Marketplace Project
Commercial developers and investors are encouraged to discover the opportunities the Cascades at Carlsbad, New Mexico project has available.

CARLSBAD, NM, October 14, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Commercial developers and investors are encouraged to discover the opportunities the Cascades at Carlsbad project has available.

The Carlsbad Department of Development (CDOD) announces the availability of property for the Cascades at Carlsbad, an open air market village that will offer shopping, dining and entertainment. This 35-acre project, is ideally situated along the beautiful Pecos River, will have nearly 700,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, entertainment and professional office space. The Cascades will offer a one-of-a-kind experience not seen in Southeastern New Mexico.

It is anticipated the Cascades will become the community's focal point for entertainment, shopping and business. "Several local, regional and national businesses have committed to locating their operations to the Cascades," said Jeff Campbell, Marketing Director for the CDOD. "The National Cave and Karst Research Institute is nearly finished with construction of their interactive science center and museum. This is a completely unique aspect for attracting visitors. We already know there is heavy foot traffic in the area because of the outdoor activities along the Pecos River."

Currently, the Cascades at Carlsbad has several prime parcels available for purchase and development. Lots range in size from approximately 6,000 to 24,000 square feet. Construction plans have professional offices occupying the top level of the two- and three-story buildings with shopping, restaurants and similar consumer outlets at street level and over 1,500 parking spaces. The one of the most prominent features is the canal flowing through the market place.

"Anyone challenged by the country's current economic market will find the Cascades to be an oasis in the desert," Campbell added. The Carlsbad Department of Development has been named the vetting and marketing agency for the Cascades project. The CDOD is urging commercial developers and investors to request a project packet for the Cascades at Carlsbad.

The Carlsbad Department of Development (CDOD) promotes the economic and general welfare of the citizens of the City of Carlsbad and South Eddy County through job retention and creation by recruiting new industry, identifying new job opportunities, expanding and retaining existing business and diversifying our economy. The CDOD membership represents the leaders of business, industry and government in Carlsbad and Eddy County, New Mexico.
