John B. Hepting Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who
John B. Hepting honored for excellence in all aspects of architecture
RALEIGH, NC, September 15, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John B. Hepting, Retired Architect, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of architecture.
Mr. Hepting has enjoyed a fruitful 41-year career as an architect. Recognized as an expert in designing educational facilities, he worked with various firms to design and build schools and campuses all over the world. He worked with The Architects Collaborative for 14 years, building facilities at Iraq's University of Baghdad, as well as two hotels and 2,000 housing units; an electrical engineering college in Algeria, and facilities at the University of Virginia. Mr. Hepting officially retired in 2006, and is currently occupied with serving as a technical inspector, tire specialist and pit open/close flagman for NASCAR.
A man of varied interests, Mr. Hepting is also a gem cutter, a magician and a musician who has performed with a number of bands. He was also a touring tennis player for 10 years, a member of the United States Jr. Davis Cup Team, and a teacher at Ball State University for two years. A recipient of the Janet Webel Memorial Scholarship from Harvard University and numerous architecture awards, he attributes the success he enjoyed to his perfectionism and continuous pursuit of multiple interests.
Mr. Hepting received his Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design in 1972. Additionally, he earned his Master's Degree in Architecture and his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, both from Tulane University. He is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the United States Faceters Guild. He aspires to write a book.
