Cadillac Super Bowl XL Theater Wins Big for Charity at the Somerset Collection
Dominick Tringali Architects Designs Ultimate Home Theater at Somerset Mall.
TROY, MI, January 22, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dominick Tringali Architects, Custom Homes by Derocher, and the Somerset Collection created the ultimate display in home entertainment for Super Bowl XL: a 40 by 50 foot home theater constructed inside Somerset Collection North in the Grand Court. The theater remained open until the beginning of March.
Dominick Tringali Architects designed the space to be the ultimate home theater. For a $2 admission fee, guests could tour the theater -- equipped with a 127 inch Da-Lite screen and two Samsung flat screen TVs -- and view a short film, Defining Moments, which highlights great moments in NFL history. All proceeds collected from the admission fee will go directly to the NFL Alumni Associations Caring for Kids charity, which supports children in underprivileged communities.
At the finish, the theater attracted just over 20,000 guests and generated approximately $120,000 in donations for the NFL Caring for Kids charity. In addition, several other charity functions and celebrity events were hosted inside the theater. The Somerset Collection hosted Tech for Kids Day and donated $15,000 to the Lions Academy. Cadillac, the Sea Gals SeaHawk cheerleaders and Charles Fazzino, the licensed artist of 2006 Super Bowl, also held parties in the space.
More and more, people are spending quality time at home, and this is the theater everyone will wish they had, says Dominick Tringali.
The theater was constructed by volunteers from the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights. With donated labor and materials, the finished theater project was estimated to cost $800,000.
